In September we saw London Design Festival take over the city for its fifteenth year. From 100% Design, Focus/17, Design Junction and more, there was definitely plenty to see and explore. LDF creates environments for people to draw inspiration from, new launches from designers, exhibitions, installations and world class innovation. We often see future key trends emerging throughout the festival, highlighting what we need to be looking out for over the coming year. From lighting, furniture and fabrics here are a few of our favorite trends and products that caught our attention this year: Maximalism There’s been a slight move away from Scandinavian-inspired minimalism, streamlined aesthetics and muted tones. Minimalism is still popular especially in the blogger realm, however designers are now becoming braver, shifting towards an array of luxurious colours, vibrant print and material combinations, taking the more is more approach. [one_half] Image: Bethan Gray – Band Collection [/one_half] [one_half_last] [/one_half_last] Materials – Antiqued Glass Antiqued mirror is making a major comeback in everything from kitchen splashbacks, living room decor and furniture, creating striking focal points in all corners of the home. Mixed with brass or pewter metal, antique mirror certainly adds character to clean graphic pieces. This is definitely a trend to look out for over the next year. Image: Casa Botelho, Eros Mirror Pink & Green This colour combination is seemingly popular within interior decor for 2018, green accents refresh soft feminine pinks and flamingo shades create a sophisticated fresh palette. Pinterest searches for this combination have surged massively, with blush pink here to stay, it seems green is the perfect colour to liven things up. Think colour blocks, lively prints and tessellated shapes brought together with energetic colourways, this is sure to give a sense of playfulness into homes. A muted take on previous metallic trends, the warm tones in brass and gold are perfect with rich dark blues and emerald greens. Expect to see everything with these trending metal accents from furniture and wallcoverings, to hardware and statement lighting.
